The Center for Cyber Strategy and Policy (CCSP) seeks to advance the study of cybersecurity through a social science perspective grounded in the fields of strategic studies, international relations, national and foreign policy studies, national and international law and organizations.
I was appointed as a motion graphics & UX/UI Designer into the team and constructed a visual rebranding featured in 3D, 3 motion graphic visualizations, wireframe iterations, as well as PowerPoint, signature, and banner templates.

Dr. Richard J. Harknett's vision of persistent engagement in cyber strategy ties back to a game of multi-dimensional chess. He explains that the red knight would multiply itself, conquering the game of persistent engagement, and becoming a huge threat to the game's defenders. It serves as a representation of malware and hackers, which could multiply, deceive, and transform.
The final piece features the multiplying of a lone knight, creating an overshadow of a bishop that looms over a fallen pawn. This depiction creates the idea of how the knight's versatility of actions, decisions, and possibility of creating different attacks, create a threatening problem in cyberspace.
Concept Depiction

The game of cyber strategy features a multitude of different players in an ever-expanding multi-layered chessboard. Given the current state of cyberspace, players could easily transfer into different stages and create more spaces for themselves to outsmart their opponents. These chessboards are also constantly expanding into different spaces and initiate constant movement and territories to claim and destroy.

Education Modules
Data Breach, Cyber Heist
These modules feature cybersecurity breaches in past history encompassed into a simple 1-minute visualization. These visualizations are focused on covering simple data that would be easily perceived for high school students. It was important to have accurate research information and broken down into similar pieces, allowing clarity throughout the motion piece. I wanted to keep a similar style throughout both modules in order to create a solid branding style for the center.
Cyber Persistence Module
The Cyber Persistence module is a featured module that would be an introduction to persistent engagement. Dr. Harknett wanted to showcase the progression of offense and defense, deterrence, and the current persistent engagement, from war to cyberspace.
The storyboarding process features visualizing the animation initially through Dr. Harknett's voiceover script. The visuals then start to move and transition between each other to have a complete, cohesive story.
Cyberspace Simulation
I was instructed to create ideas, and wireframes for redesigning a simulation as a working officer in a cyber campaign. The campaign features a simple briefing, phishing attacking, as well as defending and making choices. At the end of the simulation, users are asked to answer a few questions about the decisions that were made, which would help create a better understanding and basis towards the cyberspace mindset today.
