Cincer is a business start-up idea that I created based on the word Cincinnati. It is a quick-and-easy card game that full of strategy, quickfire competition, and mainly would test a player’s spelling abilities.
I spent 4 months designing, researched user perspectives and experiences through primary and secondary research, created product market validations, business models and plans, user-tested, produced, and shipped out the product to customers, achieving a 50% profit margin at the end of the semester.

User Research
This user research is used to determine the popularity of card games, and narrow down the target audience. Our initial hypothesis is that college students are our target audience since they are most likely to play card games.

We interviewed over 30 adults, and caught card games on the mid-range of adults' leisure time.

Our research also shows that our target audience was not college students, but older Cincinnati folk and residents who still very much enjoy the nostalgia of card games and board games in their leisure.

‘Cincinnati’ has proven to be an extremely difficult word to spell in Google searches. It has gotten to the point where a majority of our own citizens could not spell its name. Creating a game that would allow players to rotate around this name envisioned the possibility of familiarizing citizens, and foreigners with the city. The frustration of simply spelling the word ‘Cincinnati’ was the initial spark that brought an idea to life. With the existence of its own card game, we could accustom ourselves to our hometown, and become proud of where we come from.
This business startup venture was started from an ENTR 3071 class that gives students opportunities to create a business and experience what its like to create a startup from scratch.
Tutorial
One of the biggest drawbacks that Cincer faced was the tutorial and understanding of how the game is played. Through informative text, it did not seem enough, so I decided to create an animated tutorial video to help customers understand how the game is played.
